Groups and Coverages - How they differ
You already know how analyst groups can be used to access analyst profiles,
send emails and create reports. But are you equally versed in ARchitect's
custom coverage functionality? For the full training document on groups and
coverages click here.
Groups
Analyst Groups serve two primary functions: to
navigate quickly to an analyst, and to filter analysts for selection. You
can only filter by one analyst group at a time.
Using Groups - Analyst groups are a specific identification
of a subset of the total analyst population. Groups of key analysts are
created to target relationship building, to track specific tasks such as events
or projects, to do bulk emails, or to organize analysts by a product or
technology
Example:
Create a group of your top dozen analysts that you will be frequently
contacting. Place this group on the left navigation bar for quick
access. Use this group as the primary filter for reports.
Coverages
Coverages do not provide quick navigation
functionality, but serve to group and categorize analysts such that you can
have multi-coverage filtering
Using Coverages - A coverage is a defined characteristic
which may be applied to an analyst, but also to an interaction; a project or
event; or a document, article or quote. Like groups, an analyst may be
associated with one or more coverages. Coverages may be further organized
by types such as product or campaign.
Example:
Create a coverage called "Executive Buddy" of type campaign" and associate key
analysts with that coverage. You may then filter those analysts in your
key analyst group who are also members of the "Executive Buddy" program you
have created.
